How do I store electronics?

If you have the original packaging the electronics came in, that is your best bet. Don't worry if you don't. A sturdy box and some packing material should be able to handle most of your electronics. The idea is to keep them out of harm's way, protect them from dust and moisture. Well-labeled boxes that are taped shut provide a great barrier from dust and moisture. Ask about climate-controlled units to further protect from moisture.

Are there any tips for storing appliances?

The rule of thumb is to clean any and all appliances before storage. Make sure refrigerators and freezers are free of water, ice or perishables before you store. Appliances with moving parts such as washing machines, or swinging doors or drawers, like stoves and dryers should be taped shut and packed with towels, or other soft materials to protect the inside elements from damage. Please see our storage guide for more information.
